Now that Google let the Panda out of the zoo, things have changed dramatically in the world of search engine optimization. Did you know that most photo buyers now use the Internet to locate photographers? Is your Web site compatible with search engines? Are features of your site’s content sabotaging its ability to be found by your target audience? How can you help your customers find your services and you online?

Answers to these questions and more will be covered including how SEO affects your search ranking, the importance of selecting the right keywords, titles, and descriptions for every element of content you post. Make: Ultimate Guide to 3D Printing By The Editors of MAKE

Imagine: You are sitting at your desk, you turn to your printer, and instead of grabbing a sheet of paper you are looking at the new iPhone case that you just printed with your company logo etched on the back. This is not a futuristic replicator, this is a 3D printer that exists today.

3D Printing is the next logical step in the evolution in design. We have gone from realizing our ideas on paper to 3D images on screens to now being able to hold them in our hands. What does this new medium hold for you as a designer, how does it work and how to do you get started? On September 26th, we will explore this incredible and rapid growing medium to express your ideas. Our meeting discussion will include:

• History of 3D printing
• Different 3D printing processes available
• Practical applications for graphic designers
• Sample 3D printed parts*
* Sample parts of particular interest will include a 3D part designed by Ron Skozen, and printed out using different 3D printers, for the purpose of comparison. An analysis of the different costs and materials for each different process will be discussed.
