Many of us in the publishing business consume Podcasts in order to stay informed about technology and our areas of expertise, but we know very little about using Podcasts for Marketing and Brand Building. Come join us and learn what is a Podcast, and the Podcast audience. We will also learn what it takes to launch a Podcast, and how to turn subscribers into clients.
Speaker Bio
Dave Jackson is the founder of the School of Podcasting (www.schoolofpodcasting.com). Dave has been helping people understand and harness technology for over 20 years. His podcast, “The School of Podcasting’s Morning Announcements” has over 400 episodes and has over 1 million downloads. He is a featured speaker at podcast events, the former directory of Podcasting for the New Media Expo, the host of the live call in “Ask the Podcast Coach” show, and the author of the book “More Podcast Money.” Dave lives in Rocky River with his wife Diane.

ASMP Ohio North Coast member, Susie Lilley, will be having a solo exhibit that opens this Friday, September 4th, at the Citizens Bridge Gallery and Residence (1400 E. 30th St. – Suite 403 – Cleveland, OH 44114). She will be displaying her work “Inside the World of Bubbles”, which she previewed at the ASMP/ONC Annual Meeting / Pints and Pixels in March. On Saturday, September 5th, Susie will be participating in the Akron Art Prize. Her entry will be located at the Ro3 Gallery (115 E. Market St., Akron, OH). Her piece demonstrates a non-traditional form of displaying a photograph. This is an interactive, crowd participation event where the popular vote is tallied for big prizes…the big prize for participants is free parking!
At the suggestion of fellow ASMP member, Herb Ascherman, Susie had also entered the Artists Archive of the Western Reserve’s juried exhibition, Photo Now. Her piece, “Republic Steele: The Upper Room” was accepted. There will be a reception on Tuesday, September 8th at Tri-C’s Gallery East, located in the Education Center of Cuyahoga Community College (4250 Richmond Road, Highland Hills, OH 44122). This event also has a voting element, so please, head out and vote.

ASMP Ohio North Coast Presents: Pricing Aerobics with Todd Joyce

Come exercise your estimating skills with this educational and exhilarating, program on pricing. Commercial photographer Todd Joyce will hammer home what our clients are thinking, show what makes you valuable (or not) and give practical pricing info. Todd will present various projects and have the audience submit our estimates (anonymously) as well as sharing his pricing for the same jobs. Join us to get a better handle on our market, improve your estimating skills and understand the “value of you.”
Join us for an exercise in pricing as Commercial photographer and past president of ASMP, Todd Joyce (http://www.joycephotography.com/) will lead us through the difficult discussion and get beyond the taboo of talking about price. As photographers, we’re constantly estimating, but how confident are we in the terms we use and the amounts we charge?
Todd will discuss who our clients are and what they’re thinking, The “value of you” and practical pricing info. Todd will present several photo projects for audience members to submit our estimates – anonymously. Todd will share his estimate for each job as well as the audience’s estimates, proving to be a very educational and interesting evening of discussions.
Please remember, ASMP or its members cannot tell photographers what to charge; but Todd can discuss and share what he would charge or has charged, and together we can learn more about our market, while improving how we estimate work.
